According to UNESCO, 96% of crimes against freedom of expression affect local commercial or community media. In order to strengthen efforts to reduce the level of impunity for crimes against freedom of expression, World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) launches an international broadcast campaign of radio programmes highlighting the work of journalists / producers of community radio to coincide with the World Day against Impunity for Crimes against Journalists (November 2, 2016). The programme is part of AMARC Global Campaign and is being is organised in partnership with and support of International Network for Freedom of Expression (IFEX).
“Climate is changing. Food and agriculture must change too” is the theme of World Food Day 2016. The day – which this year falls on Sunday, October 16– will be observed during events and ceremonies taking place in over 150 countries around the globe, making it one of the most celebrated events on the UN calendar.
This year, we want to explore how food and agriculture must adapt to a changing climate in order to feed a growing population in a sustainable manner.
AMARC launches Climate Radio, a temporary and multilingual press agency. This project wants to offer news coverage dedicated to the editorial needs of worldwide associative, community, campus and free radio stations, on the occasion of COP22, the UN conference on climate change, taking place from 7 to 18 November in Marrakech (Morocco).
